1.56ct J-VS2 AGS 1 cut grade (excellent polish rather than ideal) shown at approximately 15X. If I had a budget of less than $9,000 for a beautiful diamond in the 1.5ct range, this would have to be on the short short list! This diamond is on the borderline of VS1/VS2 and faces up more like a G/H than a J. What an incredibly beautiful diamond. Priced at $8,789.

Oh, the clear inclusion. You mean that one that I can only see if I hold the stone close and squint? And this stone is how much? $5,040 for a 1.5ct that is GORGEOUS! You MUST be kidding. Really? Wow!

1.23ct I-I1 AGS 0 cut grade shown at approximately 15X. Here is another incredible value, this gem looks eye clean to all but the closest examination and is priced at well under $5,000 for a carat and a quarter super ideal cut. This diamond presents an EXCELLENT Hearts and Arrows pattern. This diamond is priced at only $4,289.

1.23ct H-SI2 AGS 0 cut grade shown at approximately 15X. WOW, look at the dispersion in this gem. Here is a case where I can see the inclusion in the edge of this SI2 stone, but it is very hard to see and definitely prongable. This is a magnificently beautiful diamond at only $6,919.

1.05ct F-I1 AGS 0 cut grade shown at approximately 15X. The inclusions are there and I agree with the grade, but WOW are they hard to see without a scope. This is what we refer to in the trade as an eye cleanish I1. You have to strain to see the inclusions in normal lighting, and the larger inclusion is easily prongable. A very fine value at $4,079.

1.04ct I-I1 AGS 1 cut grade (excellent polish rather than ideal) shown at approximately 15X. This diamond has a group of inclusions showing here at approximately the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:time Hour="15" Minute="0">3 o’clock</st1:time> position. While they look large and easily visible in the 15X photograph they are actually very hard to see, and the visible portion easily “prongable”. (Hidden under a prong.) At $3,184 this diamond is a tremendous value.

1.03 H-I1 AGS 0 cut grade shown at approximately 15X. When I get a diamond in I like to look at it under the microscope and grade it before I look at the diamond grading report. I graded this stone an SI2. As you can see the inclusions are colorless crystals and not visible under normal viewing conditions. At $3,667 this is one beautiful BARGAIN!

.93ct G-SI2 AGS0 cut grade shown at approximately 15X. Although easily seen in the photo the myriad of small colorless crystal inclusions are NOT visible to the unaided eye. Notice the wonderful dispersion. This diamond has strong blue fluorescence, and stunning to the eye. $4,492.

1.32 H-SI2 Eye Clean

1.32ct H-SI2 AGS 0 cut grade shown at approximately 15X. Wow! Check out the dispersion in this diamond. In addition to the normal reds and yellow that I expect to see in Paul’s stones, this beautiful diamond is exhibiting great quantities of blue to purplish dispersion as well. This diamond is a totally eye clean SI2. The small wispy inclusions are not visible to the unaided eye even from the pavilion of the stone. (In the trade clarity is always graded from the face up position of the stone and many things not visible from the top may be visible from the bottom, but not in this stone.) This is a hard to find size in such an incredibly well cut diamond priced at only $7,837.50.

One of Paul's diamonds

This is from the parcel that Paul talks about in his thread about the intricacies of diamond cutting. It is the largerst of the parcel that I purchased. Notice the incredible dispersion coming from the stone. The stone is shown at about 15X. It is a 1.56ct J-VS2, right on the borderline between VS1 and VS2. AGS1 cutting grade for "only" excellent polish...
