This natural alexandrite comes from a new deposit in India. I'm
occasionally able to buy small parcels of rough from an old contact
there which I have custom-cut in the U.S. This .42 ct. oval set
in 14 K. yellow gold is a fine example of the lively daylight
greenish-blue of the Indian stones. It displays about a 60%
color change to reddish-blue in candlelight or tungsten
illumination. The stone measures 3.6 x 5.5 and is basically clean
with one tiny silky area at 10X magnification.
