Demantoid garnet, the green variety of the andradite garnet species,
vanished from the American market in the early part of the last
century. I was lucky to find my first one set in a piece of
antique jewelry years ago and always hoped for new production.
Imagine my delight at finding this matched pair of fine small
stones! The two 4.3 mm. gems total .69 ct. Both show the
vivid chrome green color and byssolite inclusions typical of the
classic Russian source on the Bobrovka River in the Ural Mountains.
