They did a simulated air battle....this was before they got a lot more cautious with these relics. I don't think you see this much anymore where they get close to each other and buzz the airport 20 feet off the ground in a B-19 with only one wheel down...

Thanks for the images, Websailor! :) I've got to ask Garry to post his pictures of flying an old machine.

You're quite welcome! I was thinking of him and Feydakin when I suggested the topic. I think some other folks have some really neat autos too....can't remember exactly who right now. Sadly my poor XKE isn't in any kind of photo shape (grin).

They were still doing it recently (3-4 years ago), but probably a bit more conservative.

I am pretty sure that's a B-17, not a 19. (Though there was such a thing, too. It would be quite a sight in an airshow, too, if it still existed.)

Lostdog,

Aaarrggghh! That's what I get for posting long after I should have gone to bed! You are so correct (and keen eyes too with such a fuzzy picture)!!!

B-17 it is! THANK YOU for the correction.

Where is that edit button when you really need one?

That would have been really cool to watch! Big Smile [:D]
