It was the second time around for the both of us so neither really wanted to plan a big formal wedding.  We went to Jamaica (just to two of us) and had a beautiful ceremony on the beach and the most wonderful memories.  Not everyone's cup of tea, but it was perfect for us.  You definitely miss family and friends, but when we got back we had a small get together with our loved ones.  In the end, what really mattered was that we get married.  I can't believe almost a year has gone by (7/23/04)...time flies when you're having fun!
